HH August 21Congratulations to our August Hometown Hero, Mick Yinger. Mick retired from the Columbus Division of Police where he spent 21 years. After the line-of-duty deaths of two Westerville police officers in February 2018, Mick saw the need for an organization to help all First Responders deal with the trauma caused by tragedies they experience in their jobs. Since founding the First Responders’ Bridge (The Bridge) in 2018, hundreds of First Responders and their significant others have attended our expense-free 3-day retreats where they learn they are not alone, and there is professional help available to help them cope with their trauma.

Thank you Mick for all your amazing work and truly making a difference in our community! For more information about the First Responders’ Bridge, please click here.
