Congratulations to our January Hometown Hero Nicole Banks. Starfish Assignments was originally started after Nicole and her son helped out a homeless Vietnam War Purple Heart recipient. Now Nicole and her volunteers at Starfish work with law enforcement officers who identify needs in the communities they serve. Starfish and Nicole’s primary purpose is to help people and by partnering up with police officers, they find they’re often able to reach people other charities may not be able to.
