Congratulations to our July Hometown Hero, Mindy Atwood! Mindy runs the non-profit Patches of Light. She spends each day raising funds, awareness, and assistance, for families with critically ill children. The organization is run out of her own home, with no paid staff, and she pays for the running of the organization. Our community knows who to run to when a child is diagnosed with an illness that strains, or keeps the family apart.
To date, the organization has helped thousands with rent, utilities, groceries, school supplies, holiday bags, HUG Bags, and more. Mindy also volunteers twice a month on the cancer unit helping families document their journey. This organization is based on her own experiences with sick children. She is paying it forward. Thank you for all you do for our community, Mindy!
